(MENAFN) An industry report showed that the Chinese spending on cloud infrastructure services soared 54 percent year over year during the April-June period of this year, enhanced by high local demand as digital transformation, artificial intelligence and smart sectors all stay on corporate and government plan.
Technology market research company Canalys stated that China’s expenditure on cloud infrastructure services hit USD6.6 billion in the cited period.
Figures from Canalys demonstrated that Alibaba Cloud continued to be the market leader with a 34-percent market share, whereas Huawei Cloud remained in second place, accounting for 19 percent of the market.
Pushed by wins in smart tourism, government and finance, Tencent Cloud witnessed rapid expansion in the second quarter, expanding 92 percent year over year and making up 18.8 percent of the market.
