Fair weather to prevail in 1st day of autumn


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Sep. 22 (Petra) -- Temperatures on Wednesday is expected to slightly drop as it marks the first day of autumn, during which the Kingdom will witness cooler weather and unstable conditions that bring the first rain showers of the season, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
Clouds will appear at low altitudes in the northern and central parts of the Kingdom, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds.
On Thursday, a wet air mass will affect the Kingdom and gradually push mercury levels down, bringing fair autumn conditions in the highlands, while it will be moderate in the Badia and the plains, and relatively hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with a chance of light showers in the northern region, the JMD added.
Friday is expected to bring in similar cool, partly cloudy weather conditions, with temperatures 5-6 degrees below annual average and a chance of rainfall in the northern and central regions.
Today, temperatures in Amman will hover around 30 Celsius degrees, dropping to 18C at night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a blistering 37C, dipping into 24C during night hours.
