J&K Logs 145 New Cases, 2 Deaths

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported on Tuesday 145 fresh cases of novel coronavirus while the deadly infection claimed lives of two more people in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

According to the officials, Kashmir Valley reported 121 new cases of coronavirus while the remaining 24 were detected in the winter capital on Tuesday thus taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J & K to 328214.

Giving district wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 56, Budgam 19, Baramulla and Ganderbal 13 each, Pulwama, Bandipora and Kupwara 5 each, Anantnag 4 and Kulgam 1new case of Covid-19, officials said. No case was detected in south Kashmir's Shopian district.

Similarly, Jammu and Udhampur districts reported 6, Doda 4, Kishtwar 3, Ramban 2 and one new case each was reported from Rajouri, Samba and Poonch, officials said.

Moreover, they said, 154 more Covid-19 patients have recovered—30 from Jammu and 124 from Kashmir.

Meanwhile, two more coronavirus related deaths were reported from Jammu division, this taking the overall fatality count to 4419 in J & K— 2172 in Jammu division and 2247 in Kashmir.
