1st lady in Turkey joins show of documentary 'Ottoman America'

(MENAFN) Emine Erdogan, first lady in Turkey to join the show of a documentary film on Ottoman refugees who moved to the US in the 1900s.

"Ottoman America" was created in collaboration with Bay Atlantic University, the Bahcesehir University Civilization Studies Center (MEDAM) as well as the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).

The film was supported by the presence of Turkey's first lady at the recent opened Turkevi Center, or Turkish House, in Manhattan across from UN head offices.

In line with the Turkish leader, the documentary clarifies Turkey’s history in America in addition to the science of history.

She also said "Turkish, Kurdish, Armenian, Jewish and Greek immigrants set out on this path together and stayed together in America. We see the multiculturalism of the Ottoman Empire in this migration adventure."
