President enacts NSDC decision to increase defense budget for 2022


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has enacted the National Security and Defense Council's decision to increase the defense budget of Ukraine for 2022.

The relevant decree, No.477/2021 of September 20, was published on the president's website, Ukrinform reports.

“To put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of September 17, 2021 'On proposals to the draft Law of Ukraine 'On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2022' in regards to articles related to national security and defense of Ukraine'(attached),” reads the document.

According to the document, the NSDC Secretary has been tasked with exercising control over the implementation of the NSDC decision enacted by the decree.

As Ukrinform reported, on September 17, the NSDC voted to increase the country's defense budget from 5.93% to 5.95% of GDP in 2022.
