UK removes Turkey from COVID-19 travel red list


(MENAFN) Turkish tourism sector representatives declared that Britain's elimination of Turkey from the COVID-19 travel red list would encourage tourism in the approaching winter season.

Starting from Sept. 22, the British government decided that arrivals from Turkey that were on the travel red list since May would no longer require quarantine in hotels.

The Hurriyet daily quoted head of the Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TUROFED), Sururi Corabatir, as saying that British tourists are an important target group to be influenced by Turkey's golf courses.

The Antalya province in the Mediterranean region filled with many golf courses would start hosting British travelers following Turkey's elimination from the red list on Wednesday, he further declared.
