China: Passenger ship capsizes in Guizhou


(MENAFN) Local authorities said that on Sunday, Sep. 19 eight persons lost their lives, and another seven are still missing as of 8:10 a.m. after a passenger ship capsized in a river in southwest China's Guizhou Province.

The incident took place at 4:50 p.m. on Saturday in Zangke River in Zangke Township in the city of Liupanshui.

From 8:10 a.m. Sunday, 39 persons were saved from the river, with 31 in non-life-threatening states, and eight passed away after being saved.

The ship was made to transport up to 40 persons. Authorities are still checking the precise number of aboard people.
