(MENAFN) On Friday, Sep. 17 local customs stated that the import and export values of commodities transferred through the frontier port of Erenhot in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region recorded an annual rise of 38.2 percent to hit 22.04 billion yuan (around USD3.42 billion) in the January-August period of 2021.
The customs of Erenhot said that the import volume logged USD2,37 billion in the cited period, surging by 41.9 percent year over year, whereas that of the exports came to about USD1,03 billion, a rise 30.4 percent year over year.
The speedy import expansion demonstrates China’s stable economic rebound since the start of 2021. In the meantime, the increasing trend of the global market price for bulk goods is another aspect leading to the expansion.
Regarding exports, the coronavirus pandemic damaged Mongolia's local manufacturing ability, making it more reliant on imports from China. During the January-August period of 2021, the Chinese exports in mechanical and electrical produce to Mongolia soared by 57.5 percent as a consequence of the Mongolian growing demand for mine tools.
