Cease-fire agreement reached in Ain al-Hilweh camp

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Beirut, Sept. 18 (Petra) -- Efforts and contacts with Palestinian national and Islamic forces, mediated by Palestinian ambassador to Lebanon Ashraf Dabour and MP Bahia Hariri, succeeded in reaching a ceasefire agreement inside Ain al-Hilweh camp and putting an end to clashes that erupted between members of the "Fatah" movement and others from "Jund al-Sham".
The clashes erupted due to Fatah handing over a wanted man affiliated with Jund al-Sham to the Lebanese Army Intelligence.
Seven people were injured in the clashes, a number of whom were transferred to Al-Nida Hospital in the camp and Al-Hamshary Hospital in Sidon, according to Palestinian sources.
A house in the Tameer Ain Al-Hilweh and another in the Al-Baraksat neighborhood were burned, in addition to material damage to property and the displacement of a number of residents outside the camp, the sources added.
