Iran, Afghanistan flights resume after suspension of in August following Taliban takeover


(MENAFN) After international flights to the capital’s Kabul Airport were postponed following the Taliban takeover of the country, Iran resumed flights to Afghanistan.

Two private Mahan planes headed to Kabul from Tehran and the northern city of Mashhad, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

The company postponed its flights to Afghanistan in mid-August.

A number of Taliban officials asked that foreign countries carry on their international flights to the war-torn nation, in the rouse of the completion of the US removal from Afghanistan on Aug. 31, and the Taliban control of the Kabul Airport.
