(MENAFN) According to the European Commission leader during her State of the Union speech, The European Union is going to organize a meeting on European Defense in 2022 "since it is time to step up for a European Defense Union."
Ursula von der Leyen appraised the previous year and planned the main concerns of the EU managerial body for next year, while talking to the plenary conference of the European Assembly in Strasbourg.
She also emphasized the significance for a European Defense Union, taking into consideration the global community’s work in Afghanistan which finished “so abruptly.”
Ursula added “What has held us back until now is not just a shortfall of capacity, it is the lack of political will,” and offered three lines of acts to increase the bloc’s security.
