(MENAFN) Iraqi army officer stated that an airstrike aimed at fighters of the pro-government Hashd al-Shaabi militia (Popular Mobilization Forces) near the Iraqi-Syrian border.
The officer further declared that, two vehicles belonging to the Iraqi militia were hit by missiles in the city of al-Bukamal in eastern Syria, near the border with Iraq. The reports announced casualties in the attack.
Anadolu Agency quoted local sources in al-Bukamal as saying that the airstrike targeted Iranian-backed groups in the area.
