Israel to block Palestinian territories as of Wednesday afternoon until midnight Thursday

(MENAFN) Israel is going to block the Palestinian territories as of Wednesday afternoon until midnight Thursday for the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur.

The army is going to organize additional forces to handle any possible Palestinian demonstrations during the holiday, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation network reported.

Yom Kippur is traditionally observed with a day-long fast and special services held at synagogues and it is considered the most sacred day in the Jewish calendar.

The holiday of the current year comes with an Israeli manhunt for two escaped Palestinian inmates who last week escaped of the high-security Gilboa prison in northern Israel.
