China: Industrial production increases 5.3 pct during August


(MENAFN) On Wednesday, Sep. 15 figures from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) demonstrated that value-added industrial production of China jumped 5.3 percent year over year last month.

According to NBS figures, the number rose 11.2 percent from the level during August 2019, pushing the average expansion for the last two years to 5.4 percent.

In January-August period, industrial production increased 13.1 percent year over year, leading to an average two-year expansion of 6.6 percent.

The industrial production is employed to gauge the performance of chosen large companies with a yearly business turnover of over 20 million yuan (around USD3.1 million).
