National identity is basis of security and stability: Culture Minister


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: Minister of Culture and Sports HE Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali underlined that the national identity is the basis of security and stability, and it establishes the values of belonging and loyalty to the homeland, noting that the State of Qatar has been keen on realizing its commitments to maintaining identity and promoting human rights at the national and international levels.

Speaking at a lecture delivered in the framework of the "Ambassadors of Support" program at Qatar Scientific Club, the Minister explained that the national identity includes the deep identity, human dignity, respect for others, knowledge, mastery of work, and how to deal with time, stressing the significance of the deep identity for societies.

Meanwhile, human dignity is the respect, protection and promotion of human rights, which is one of the basic pillars of the principles and objectives of the United Nations. Therefore, and stemming from the Arab and Islamic principles and values that exalt the value of the human, the State of Qatar has been keen on realizing its commitments in this aspect at the national and international levels, aiming to defend individual and collective rights and promoting human rights worldwide, the Minister of Culture and Sports continued.

As part of its activities, the "Ambassadors of Support" program organized an introductory activity for young people about the activities of Qatar Scientific Club and its various sections.

Launched last week, the "Ambassadors of Support" program aims to enable Qatari youth to acquire the basic skills to represent the State of Qatar in international forums, such as the United Nations organizations in all its branches, the UNESCO and others; as well as to meet official invitations by external parties and international organizations throughout the year, through lectures, seminars, workshops and field visits to some stakeholders in this field. The program includes basic concepts and processes in the diplomatic and leadership fields, strategic management and media skills for all participants.
