FM meets Pakistani counterpart, chief of army staff


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani met separately yesterday in Islamabad with Pakistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa. During the two meetings, they reviewed co-operation relations between the two countries and the humanitarian situation as well as the latest security and political developments in Afghanistan. The two Pakistani officials expressed Pakistan's thanks and appreciation to Qatar for its efforts and support for the peace process in Afghanistan, and its pivotal role in facilitating evacuations from Afghanistan. The visit comes within the framework of Qatar's efforts to contribute to achieving comprehensive peace and lasting stability in Afghanistan.
