Turkey’s benchmark stock index starts Monday at 1,471.61 points


(MENAFN) On Monday, Turkey’s benchmark stock index started the day at 1,471.61 points, increased 0.20 percent or 2.94 points from the last close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index dropped 0.71 percent to 1,468.67 points at last week’s close, with a daily trading rate of 12.2 billion Turkish liras (USD1.5 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange volume decreased to 8.2890 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, from 8.2940 on Friday.

One euro traded for 9.8580 Turkish liras, versus 9.8590 at the last close. The British pound/Turkish lira exchange rate reached 11.5120, dropped from 11.5240.
