Indonesian private jet business increases in COVID-19 pandemic

(MENAFN) Sophisticated consumers in Indonesia have made a decision to travel out of towns and overseas in charter planes or private jets in the rise in coronavirus cases for a variety of factors.

The chairperson of the Indonesian Travel Agent Association (Astindo) Pauline Suharno stated: "there are travelers who make trips for medical purposes and holidays among other reasons."

She said to CNBC Indonesia recently that the high mobility of Indonesians who desired to leave their towns and travel overseas has made travel agents busier, as observed from their ticket sales since June this year.

The transportation business utilizing private jets has surged in the coronavirus pandemic, noted Stefanus Gandi, director of PT Indojet Sarana Aviasi which is an Indonesian firm involved particularly in the rental of private aircraft.
