(MENAFN) CNBC Arabiya reported that Saudi Aramco plans to resume development of the giant Jafurah gas field in the eastern region of the country with strategies to invest about USD110 billion in the project.
The largest natural gas field in the Kingdom, extending 170 km by 100 km, is expected to stand at 200 trillion cubic feet of rich raw gas.
CNBC quoted unnamed sources in the oil and gas industry as saying that Aramco has refiled a number tenders for field development, including for the construction of the field’s devoted power plant early coming December.
According to the Ministry of Energy, the Jafurah field is going to place Saudi Arabia third in the world in natural gas production by 2030.
