Baghdad hosts secret talks between Riyadh, Tehran

(MENAFN) According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Saudi-Iranian discussions are continuing in Baghdad to reach a deal for ending the rift amid both neighbors.

Iraq hailed a conference to support regional collaboration, with the attendance of a number of countries, including Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Hussein further declared that "What we understand from both sides is that they have a great desire to reach positive results to solve stuck problems between the two countries.”

For the first time since Riyadh and Tehran rivals severed diplomatic ties in 2016, Baghdad hosted secret talks amid both countries.
