Colombo , August 29 (newsin.asia) – The number of coronavirus positive patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 421,000 mark as another 4,596 new Covid-19 cases had been detected across the country yesterday (28).
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases stands at 421,557 with 57,580 active cases registered across the island and as many as 355,394 recoveries according to the Government Information Department.

Sri Lanka also registered 212 more Covid-19 related deaths yesterday, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed. The victims have succumbed to the virus infection on Friday (27).
Reportedly, 2 of the victims are aged below 30 years while 37 of them are aged between 30-59 years and 173 others are aged 60 and above.
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 8,583 as of now.
