(MENAFN) The Beijing municipal statistics bureau stated that China’s capital of Beijing saw an annually expansion of 19.2 percent in retail trade of consumer commodities, a key indicator of consumption expansion, during the January-July period of 2021.
In the first seven months of the year, the capital’s retail sales of consumer commodities hit 833.19 billion yuan (around USD128.56 billion).
Regarding consumption patterns, the retail sales of commodities hit about USD118 billion, a rise by 16.4 percent annually, and catering proceeds reached around USD10,37 billion, increasing by 65.7 percent annually.
During the very period, the retail sales of gold, silver, and jewelry products recorded around USD2,57 billion, an annually rise of 56.5 percent. In the meantime, the retail sales of beverage products surpassed around USD2,16 billion, an increase by 53.9 percent annually, noted the bureau.
