Canadian University Dubai to host 11th Graduation Ceremony at Expo 2020

(MENAFN- Mid-East.Info) Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Cabinet Member and UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Canadian University Dubai (CUD) will be honouring the success of its graduates at the site of Expo 2020 Dubai – the largest event ever held in the Arab world – as the venue for the class of 2021 graduation ceremony. The commemoration will be held in January 2022, where graduates will enjoy the special occasion alongside their classmates, family, friends, and loved ones.

CUD has continuously set a precedent in higher education as the first University to stage commencements in extraordinary ways. Building on the success of previous pioneering graduation ceremonies at the prestigious Dubai Opera in 2018 and the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, in 2020, the University will celebrate its 2021 graduates on a global stage.

The event will aptly reflect the University's growing stature in the international higher education landscape. As a portal to Canadian education to connect Canada to the United Arab Emirates, CUD has been ranked amongst the top 601-650 universities globally by the QS World University Rankings for 2022. The unprecedented achievement positions the University among the top 2% of academic institutions for higher education worldwide.

Reaffirming CUD's place in history, the upcoming ceremony aims to celebrate the graduates' achievements while proving that anything is possible with strength, resilience, and determination.“Consistent in our approach to maintain academic excellence and deliver a unique learning experience for all, we are pleased to share yet another significant milestone for our University,” says Mr. Buti Saeed Al Ghandi, Chancellor, Canadian University Dubai.“Staging the graduation ceremony at the biggest cultural gathering in the world once again establishes our commitment to providing our students with a Canadian education whilst contributing to the diverse cultural landscape of the United Arab Emirates.”

From 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022, Expo 2020 will welcome visitors from every corner of the globe to join the making of a new world, as it brings together the planet in one place to reimagine tomorrow. With more than 200 participants – including nations, multilateral organizations, businesses, and educational institutions, as well as millions of visitors – the mega-event will be the world's most impactful global incubator for new ideas. Expo 2020's sub-themes of Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability will inspire visitors to preserve and protect our planet, explore new frontiers and build a better future for everyone

“This groundbreaking collaboration will foster diversity, inclusivity, and multiculturalism, promoting a respectful environment conducive to continual learning and creativity,” says Professor Karim Chelli, President and Vice-Chancellor, Canadian University Dubai.“As the world waits in anticipation for Expo 2020 to open its doors, CUD continues to be ambitious, capturing the world's imagination and creating a meaningful legacy for generations to come.”
