Expansion USD2.7 bln seen in FDI in Ukrainian economy in Jan.-Jun. period of 2021
(MENAFN) In the January-June period of 2021, foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Ukrainian economy owing to the participation of a direct shareholder in capital rose by USD 2.7 billion, of which USD2.3 billion was reinvested profit.
Chairman of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine Bohdan Danylyshyn posted this on his Facebook page, stated Ukrinform.
The report noted: "the inflow of foreign direct investment is mainly determined by reinvested earnings of foreign investors. Thus, foreign direct investment in Ukrainian economy due to the participation of a direct investor in capital increased over six months by USD 2.7 billion, of which USD 2.3 billion was reinvested earnings of the direct investor."
Simultaneously, ruling out reinvested profit, the direct shareholder's investment in the capital of a direct investment company (USD430 million) wasn’t enough even to recompense for the loss of funds of direct shareholders from direct investment companies through debt instruments (USD -460 million).
