Loaded, unloaded commodities at Iranian ports reach 46.18M tons


(MENAFN) According to a provincial official, in the first four months of the current Iranian year, loading and unloading of goods increased 16 percent at Shahid Rajaee port, Iran’s largest and most-equipped container port, in comparison to the previous year same time span.

Some 563,908 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of cargoes were loaded and unloaded at Shahid Rajaee port in the four-month period, according to Alireza Mohammadi, the director-general of Ports and Maritime Department of southern Hormozgan province where the port is situated.

Some 550 container ships were moored at the port since the start of 2021, the official further declared.

Some 46.18 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports in the first four months of this year, also declared an official with the Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
