21 detained over murder bid on president Rajoelina in Madagascar


(MENAFN) On Monday, Aug. 2 local media said a report that Madagascar authorities have detained 21 suspects over a murder bid on President Andry Rajoelina.

L'Express de Madagascar stated in a report that Berthine Razafiarivony, general attorney of the court of appeal of Antananarivo, said in an interview on Sunday that based upon concrete, material proof in the hands of investigators, the major instigators of the plot have been recognized.

She noted that the suspects tried to get rid of five Malagasy political figures, comprising president Rajoelina.

Razafiarivony added: "several people were involved in this affair," comprising five generals from the army and the gendarmerie.
