Greece suffers from Fire burning forest


(MENAFN) Fire officials revealed that a wildfire broke out on Saturday, July 31, in the northwestern Peloponnese area of Achaia.

The fire has been burning a forest in Zeria village where near villages of Ano Zeria, Kamares and Lampiri, counting Zeria, have been abandoned.

Authorities revealed that five people have been taken to the hospital with breathing problems while 20 houses have been damaged.

About 290 firefighters, with 75 cars and teams are dealing with the fire.
The European Emergency telephone number 112 has been turned on for the hit region.
