ISTANBUL, July 31 (KUNA) -- Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday did not rule out terrorism as one of the causes of destructive wildfires across the southwest.
The wildfires have so far killed at least six people and injured dozens of others as well as causing widespread destruction to homes and property.
Speaking to residents of the affected areas, according to Anadolu Agency, the president said one of the fires in the coastal city of Marmaris was started by children, and that a suspect was being held pending investigation in Milas district.
The wildfires, which have been ongoing since Wednesday, have also caused heavy damage to agriculture, livestock, businesses and homes. (end)
