S. Korea: Export reaches all-time high of USD55.44 bln during July


(MENAFN) On Sunday, Aug. 1 an administration report demonstrated that South Korea's export reached an all-time monthly high in July owing to the global demand revival from the coronavirus pandemic.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said that the outbound shipment surged 29.6 percent from a year ago reaching USD55.44 billion last month.

It was the highest-ever export since figures started to be accumulated in 1956, exceeding the prior high of USD55.12 billion recorded during September 2017.

Import increased 38.2 percent during the year hitting USD53.67 billion in the past month, bringing the trade surplus to USD1.77 billion. The trade balance remained in the black for 15 consecutive months.
