Canada: IPPI remains stable, RMPI rises during June

(MENAFN) On Friday, Jul. 30 Statistics Canada reported that the country’s industrial product price index (IPPI) was stable last month whereas the raw materials price index (RMPI) surged 3.9 percent.

The Canadian industrial product price index (IPPI) remained the same month over month during June this year but soared 16.8 percent in comparison with June last year.

Even though the top-level indicator was flat, 15 of the 21 key subcomponent groups climbed, five declined, and one was stable.

The greatest impact on the IPPI last month was the fall in lumber and other wood products which decreased 6.8 percent. If lumber and other wood products were ruled out from the calculation, the IPPI would have jumped 0.6 percent.
