Israel to relax restrictive measures on Gaza


(MENAFN) On Friday, Jul. 30 Israel declared it will relax a number of restrictive measures enforced on the Gaza Strip, comprising an increase of the allowed fishing area.

Ghassan Alian, chief of the Coordination of the Government Activities in the Territories, stated in a report: "on Sunday, it will be possible to bring equipment and goods to Gaza, including materials for projects funded by the international community in the areas of food, water, medicine, and fishing."

The report noted that in the meantime, Gaza residents will be permitted to travel to Jordan through Israel and the Israeli side will permit the access of 29 cars to Gaza which had been held at Israeli ports since May.

It further said that the relaxing of restrictive measures came at an assessment conclusion of the security condition with the approval of the political level.
