Afghanistan: Double traffic accidents leave 20 people dead in Laghman


(MENAFN) Provincial administration spokesperson Asadullah Dawlatzai stated that on Saturday, Jul. 31 20 commuters as a minimum were killed in two traffic accidents in eastern Laghman province.

Dawlatzai said to Xinhua: "the first accident took place when a mini-bus and car collided in Qargai district very early Saturday. As a result, eight travelers were killed and 10 others injured. Women and children are among the victims."

The official further said that a car crashed into another one in adjacent Kach-e- Aziz Khan district early on Saturday, killing 12 commuters and wounding another eight.

The official noted that the jam-packed roads and reckless driving often leads to such traffic accidents in Afghanistan.
