Turkey eyes expansion in exports


(MENAFN) According to the country’s statistical authority, on Friday, July 30, Turkey’s foreign trade shortage hit USD2.85 billion last month.

TurkStat revealed in a report that last month, the foreign trade shortage fell by 0.2 percent compared with the same month of 2020.

Turkey’s exports increased 47 percent annually to reach USD19.77 billion last month while imports augmented 38.7 percent to hit USD22.6 billion.

The exports-to-imports reporting ratio augmented to 87.4 percent in June, opposed to 82.5 percent in June of last year.

In June 2021, the country's major trading associate Germany got USD1.7 billion worth of Turkish exports, or an 8.6 percent share of total exports.
