Turkey: Forest blaze leaves 1 dead, 10 stuck in Mediterranean region


(MENAFN) On Thursday, Jul. 29 officials declared that one person as a minimum was confirmed dead, and ten people were stuck in a forest blaze that flared up in the Turkish Mediterranean province of Antalya.

A man, aged 82, lost his life in his burning house in the Kepezbeleni area of the Akseki district, stated Agriculture and Forestry Minister Bekir Pakdemirli.

80 percent of the homes in Kepezbeleni were burned to the ground, press reports said.

In the meantime, the minister further said that ten people, who were thought to be restaurant owners and employees, have been stuck in the Oymapinar Dam area.
