23 Taliban rebels killed by Afghan forces drives in northern Faryab


(MENAFN) On Thursday, Jul. 29 army spokesperson in the northern region Mohammad Hanif Rezai stated than an overall of 23 rebels were confirmed killed and another three were wounded as Afghan administration forces supported by air power attacked Taliban hiding places in Pashtunkot and Almar districts of the northern Faryab province on Wednesday.

According to the official, during the drives conducted Wednesday afternoon, a huge number of weapons and ammunitions along with four motorbikes of the rebels were also ruined.

The administration forces will keep going after the rebels somewhere else in the restive province, said the official.

Taliban rebels, who are reportedly controlling key areas of Faryab province and have been combating to invade the provincial capital Maimana city, haven’t made any remarks yet.
