JMD expects usual summer weather in highlands, hot in other regions


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, July 27 (Petra) -- The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) forecast that normal summer weather will prevail on Tuesday and much of the week in the highlands and the plains, with temperatures reaching a high of 34 Degrees Celsius in the capital, Amman.
In the late afternoon and evening hours, cooler weather is forecast as mercury levels slide to 20C, the JMD said.
The weather will be much hotter in the southern port city of Aqaba, the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea with highs jumping to around 41C, sliding to nearly 30C at night, the JMD added.
The weather department also warned of direct exposure to sunlight in the desert, the Jordan Valley and Aqaba, and of poor horizontal visibility in the Badia areas due to dust.
