Algeria reports highest daily Covid infections toll since start of pandemic


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, July 26 (Petra) -- Algeria on Monday reported the highest daily Covid infections toll since the start of the pandemic, as 1505 new cases and 24 fatalities were recorded in the last 24 hours, the Algerian Ministry of Health announced.
The new cases took the death toll in the African country to 4087 people, and the caseload to 163,660, according to the ministry's data.
On the other hand, the Algerian Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments said that it had approved a number of measures and procedures accompanying the partial quarantine across 35 states, mainly the suspension of mass prayers in mosques affected by the quarantine, the Algerian News Agency quoted the ministry as saying.
