AI Commission chairperson restates "two-state solution" for Israel-Palestine matter

(MENAFN) On Saturday, Jul. 24 an AU report stated that Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat has once more requested to peacefully resolve the Israel-Palestine matter over the "two-state solution."

The report noted that the chairperson shared the remarks on Thursday in an assembly with Israel’s Ambassador to Ethiopia Aleli Admasu, in which both sides talked about the abiding Israeli-Palestinian issue.

The chairperson stated that the conflict has been a reason of great worry for more than 70 years with a variety of regional and international actors having taken part in the search for peace between both sides.

Mahamat noted: "the path towards long-lasting peace and stability requires that the peace process and the solutions sought must not only be acceptable, but must guarantee the rights of all parties."
