Prime Minister to visit Jaffna later this month


(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa is to visit Jaffna later this month, officials said.

G. Cassilingham, Coordinating Secretary to the Prime Minister, tweeted saying Rajapaksa will undertake a two day visit to Jaffna on July 31 and 1st August.

This will be his first visit to the Jaffna District since the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna was elected to power last year.

“In prep for PM @PresRajapaksa’s visit to Jaffna, we held discussions with all stake holders on ground. The visit will include Hon. PM inaugurating a desalination plant in Thalaiyadi & handing over houses and deeds to newly resettled families in the district,” Cassilingham tweeted. (Colombo Gazette)
