Second jab against coronavirus a must for travellers -- Saudi MoI

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, July 19 (KUNA) -- Saudi Ministry of Interior declared on Monday that citizens planning to travel must take two jabs of the anti-coronavirus vaccines, effective August 9.
A ministry official source said in a statement that the decision to oblige travellers take the two shot was recommended by the Ministry of Health as part of the efforts to control the pandemic.
The official source also indicated that it was also warranted due to emergence of new infection waves and variants of the pandemic worldwide, citing scientists' recommendation that the second jab is necessary to protect people against the strains.
The decision exempts citizens aged less than 12 years, however an insurance policy accredited by the Saudi central bank must be presented in advance, covering possible costs of medical care outside the kingdom.
The recovered along with those who had taken a single jab must also present this policy. (end)
