Botswana purchases additional small stockpile for farmers


(MENAFN)President Mokgweetsi Masisi stated on Friday, July 16 that Botswana, through its financial Recovery and Transformation scheme, has allocated USD700,000 to buy bucks and rams for farmers throughout the country for breeding.

There is demand to strengthen efforts to augment the small stock population, which has dropped over the years, stated Masisi throughout his visit to the Impala Rural Training Center situated in Francistown, Botswana's second main city.

"The initiative of distributing rams and bucks to farmers across the country is aimed at promoting the quality and quantity of small stock," noted Masisi, stating that his management is devoted to commercializing the country's small stock sub-sector.

He also added that all these efforts are intended to guaranteeing that Botswana gets a steady supply of quality and quantity to the external markets.
