(MENAFN- Hkstrategies) Manama, 11 July 2021: INJAZ Bahrain has successfully concluded its 13th annual Young Entrepreneurs Competition, which took place virtually on July 7th-8th, 2021. The annual competition saw the participation of students from 10 High School and 8 Universities in Bahrain and was livestreamed via INJAZ Bahrain’s YouTube channel.
The two-day event additionally featured the participation of several high-profile Bahrain-based businesses and entities as sponsors, including Tamkeen, Banagas, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and National Bank of Bahrain (NBB).
The competition witnessed great enterprising and entrepreneurial spirit which was brought forward by students participating from all across the Kingdom to obtain the coveted “University Company of the Year 2021” and “High School Company of the Year 2021” titles in addition to “University Product of the Year 2021”, “High School Product of the Year 2021”, “University Company for Best Social Impact 2021” and “High School Company for Best Social Impact 2021” awards.
Special awards this year included two signature awards – “Excellence in Technology” award sponsored by AWS and the “Excellence in Digital Marketing” award sponsored by NBB.
Judges for this year featured Sh. Abdulla Al Khalifa from BANAGAS, Mr. Abdul Nasir from Citi, Mr. Adnan Al Mahmood from GPIC, Mr. Ahmed AlKhenaizi from Tamkeen, Mr. Ahmed Burashid from KHCB, Mr. Hussain Haji from Inagrab, Mr. Mohamed Al Rayes from BBK, Yasser Al Abbasi from GPIC, Mr. Nidal Al Basha from AWS Bahrain, and Mr. Hisham Abu Al Fateh from NBB. INJAZ Bahrain’s Young Entrepreneurs Competition sponsors are Tamkeen Bahrain, Banagas, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and National Bank of Bahrain (NBB).
The flagship competition which aims to enhance the entrepreneurial skills of Bahraini youth, create job opportunities in the market and stimulate the economy reflected on the growth and outstanding success of INJAZ students throughout the year. Among the participating teams, 8 teams have been recognised for their business innovation skills and were named winners of 2021.
Spotlight on Bahraini Entrepreneurs
“Hasib” from “Naseem International School” won the “High School Company of the Year 2021”, and “Hassad” from “Royal University For Women” won “University Company of the Year 2021”.
“Green Pot” from “Al Hekma International School” won the “High School Product of the Year 2021”, and “ReachOut” from “Bahrain Polytechnic” was presented with “University Product of the Year 2021” award.
“Enviro” from “Sitra Secondary Girls School” won the “High School Best Social Impact Award”, and “Safaa” from “University of Bahrain” was presented with “University Best Social Impact Award”.
“Hasib” from “Naseem International School” won the “Excellence in Technology Award” sponsored by AWS.
“3aawen” from “Abdul Rahman Kanoo International School” won the “Excellence in Marketing Award” sponsored by NBB.
H.H Sh. Hessa Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, INJAZ Bahrain Chairperson, praised INJAZ Bahrain as one of the leading initiatives to support Bahraini youth to start their entrepreneurial journeys and commented on the success of the 13TH edition of the annual competition: “Our vision at INJAZ Bahrain is to create a platform where young people are supported and motivated to channel their innovation and creativity into building a knowledge-based economy through our programmes and partnerships. The success of this year’s edition of our flagship program, the Company program, is a true testament to the outstanding efforts and dedication of our students. The competition has proved the readiness and agility of our youth and their ability to utilise their skills and creativity to adapt to the global challenges that the world faces, and we would like to congratulate the winning teams and wish them luck in the regional competition.”
The successful competition brought together teams from across the Kingdom to present entrepreneurial ideas and solutions and have display their outstanding ability to add value to different sectors and overcome present and future challenges. Company of the year 2021 winners will be representing Bahrain in the regional Young Arab Entrepreneurs Competition which is held annually by INJAZ Al Arab.
