Starting Monday, July 5th we kick-off with RUMBA (2008) at 21:00 MECCA/18:00 GMT. The dance-based comedy is the feature debut of Dominique Abel and Fiona Gordon, a Belgian writer-performer duo. They play a happy couple with a passion for Latin dancing, whose lives take an unforeseen turn on the day of a big competition.
The second feature for July 5th is LOST IN PARIS (2016) starring the same dynamic duo. Gordon plays a Canadian librarian who goes to Paris to search for her missing 88-year old aunt and stumbles upon a homeless man (Abel), who embarks on a comedic journey with her. LOST IN PARIS airs at 22:20.
On July 12th at 21:00 MECCA/18:00 GMT tune in for CODE 46 (2003) directed by Michael Winterbottom and produced by BBC films starring Tim Robbins in a dystopian futuristic love story. Followed by TEDDY BEAR (2012) a film directed by Mads Matthiesen on the journey of a Danish bodybuilder who flies to Thailand in the hopes of finding love.
I AM LOVE (2009), directed by Luca Guadagnino is an Italian romantic melodrama set in Milan which airs on July 19 at 21:00 MECCA/18:00 GMT, and is followed by ZOOLOGY (2016) directed by Ivan Tverdovsky which is a Russian drama with an animal twist.
FRENCH FILM (2008) directed by Jackie Oudney is a comedy about the differences in French and English culture which airs on July 26 at 21:00 MECCA/18:00 GMT, and is followed by AE FOND KISS (2004) directed by Ken Loach, which is a love story between a Muslim man and Irish Catholic woman.
