(MENAFN)The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) receives 50,000 more Coronavirus vaccine doses from Turkey.

Officials of the TRNC’s Health Ministry received a shipment of a Turkish Health Ministry plane holding the Sinovac jab that landed at Ercan International Airport in Lefkosa.

Turkey supplied the TRNC with 340,000 vaccine doses to date, accompanied with the recent shipment.

The island of Cyprus was divided into the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the north and the Greek Cypriot administration in the south since 1974, as a Greek Cypriot coup targeted at Greece’s occupation of the island was followed by violence against the island’s Turks and Ankara’s intervention as a guarantor power.
