Afghanistan’s peace negotiator says Turkish existence in Kabul Int’l Airport ‘important’


(MENAFN) The head of the Afghani High Council for National Reconciliation blamed the Taliban group of attempting to “take advantage of relative vacuum after the departure of foreign troops in the country," and noted that the Turkish existence in the Kabul International Airport is 'important.'

“Taliban have tried to take advantage of the relative vacuum that the absence of the international troops or departure of the international troops has left behind,” stated Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in an exclusive interview with Anadolu Agency on the marginal of Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

He noted: “the Taliban is trying to take advantage of that attacks,” further saying that the group’s gains were “temporary.”

He added that the outfit’s increasing assaults are in the course of their plan to apply for the talks table or in search for a military resolution, stating that “it will not work” either way.
