Industry minister meets Iraqi business delegation


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Maha Al Ali and Iraqi businesspeople on Thursday discussed the role of the private sector in strengthening Jordanian-Iraqi relations and highlighted the importance of the role of Iraqi investors in the development of the economy of the Kingdom.

Ali stressed the importance of maintaining contacts and exchanging ideas with businesspeople, and taking practical steps to increase economic cooperation and overcome obstacles to revive joint trade and stimulate the private sector to launch investments in both countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Talks also went over the significance of implementing the projects agreed between the two countries, mainly the economic city project and the oil pipeline.

Chairman of the Iraqi Economic Council Ibrahim Baghdadi, who headed the Iraqi delegation, said that the council's investments amounted to some $35 billion in all fields in several countries.
