US, Turkish president meet privately in Brussels


(MENAFN)On Tuesday, US President, Joe Biden said to a reporter in Brussels that his yesterday’s conference with his Turkish counterpart the day went "very good."

Biden was welcomed in Brussels for an EU-US Summit by Charles Michel, European Council head, and president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

A journalist asked, when entering the meeting, on a possible contract on Turkey's attendance in Afghanistan, and Biden responded: "We've had long discussions and feel very good about the meeting with the Turkish president."

The private meeting at the NATO headquarters took 45 minutes and considered as the two leaders’ first meeting from the time when Biden took office in January.

On Monday, The NATO summit, meeting heads of member states and governments, started in Brussels.
