(MENAFN)According to security sources, a drone strike targeted a military base housing US forces in the Baghdad International airport area, causing no casualties.
Xinhua quoted some sources as saying that the drone thrown bombs in the early hours of the day, striking the outer fence of the military base.
A statement by the Iraqi Joint Operations Command stated that three drones raided the military base at the airport in southwestern Baghdad, and one of the drones was shot down.
No group took responsibility for the raid. Iraqi military bases housing US troops across Iraq and the US embassy in the Green Zone have been frequently targeted by mortar and rocket raids.
