US stock market opens higher, rise witnessed in dollar indicator


(MENAFN) On Friday, Jun. 11 US shares opened higher to begin the final trading day of the week on a higher note, whereas the USD indicator has stayed on a rise.

The Dow Jones soared 121 points, or 0.3 percent, hitting 34,587 at 9.43 a.m. EDT (1343GMT). Walt Disney stocks added 1.1 percent. The S&P 500 gained 6 points reaching 4,245, but electric car manufacturer Tesla declined 0.6 percent.

The Nasdaq climbed by 16 points, or 0.1 percent, reaching 14,036 with GameStop and AMC Entertainment gaining 3.5 percent and 1.5 percent, each.

The USD indicator has kept climbing by gaining 0.3 percent reaching 90.36.
