(MENAFN) Somali National Army (SNA) has stated that on Friday, Jun. 11 an overall of 17 al-Shabab rebels died and several others were injured in two different security drives in Somalia's central region.
10 al-Shabab militants died and an indefinite number were wounded in a drive in the Hiran region, noted the SNA.
According to the army, its forces also killed seven al-Shabab rebels and demolished their hiding places in a drive carried out in villages close to Mahas district in the Hiran region.
The SNA stated over its military radio: "(The) SNA destroyed al-Shabab bases near Mahas district where they used to carry out attacks on civilians and army."
